Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). The following areas were reviewed for compliance: Physical Facility, Staffing, Hygiene & Communicable Disease Control, Records & Reporting and Policies & Procedures.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At this inspection dated April 14, 2020 there were 5 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection no contraventions were identified. Therefore a written response is not required. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed. This inspection report was completed off site and emailed along with the Risk Assessment to the facility on April 15, 2020.

The following education/recommendations were provided in regards to:
Cleaning and Sanitizing
Health & Hygiene Practices
Social Distancing
Precautions and Practices for Sick Children
Food and Nutrition Practices

LO provided the Resource Package for ChildCare Facilities COVID-19 Prevention, including:
Educational Hand Washing Posters
Cleaning and Sanitizing Schedule Resource
Guidance in the Selection of Cleaners, Sanitizers or Disinfectants

LO discussed with the Manager to monitor and address the following items, re: physical facility
Small damage on the wall by the bookshelf- chipped and peeling paint
Tape on the carpet started to lift- this could become a tripping hazard
