Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

The following areas were reviewed for compliance:
· Physical facility
· Health and hygiene systems
· Children’s files – emergency contacts
· Staffing

COVID-19 prevention strategies were reviewed and discussed.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

There were no children present during this inspection. Licensing met with the manager, a staff member and a parent volunteer to discuss COVID-19 prevention strategies and policies. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The LO met with the manager and discussed the following:
· Drop-off/pick-up procedures
· Sanitization procedures
· Handwashing
· Snack preparation and "open snack" procedure
· Availability of cleaning supplies and paper products
· Facility health & illness policy
· Implementing social distancing measures in the facility - gradual entry

The following resources were provided to the manager:
· Fraser Health CCFL COVID-19 Prevention Resource Package

A follow-up inspection will be conducted when the preschool has re-opened.

This inspection report was discussed with the manager and copy was emailed to the facility on June 3, 2020.

A business card was provided.
