STAFFING: 32270 - RCR s.44(2) - A licensee who accommodates 50 or more persons in care in a community care facility must have, to supervise the preparation and delivery of food, a food services manager who is (a) a nutrition manager with membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, (b) a person who is eligible to be a member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, or (c) a dietitian.
Observation: A meeting occured with The Care Corp QA Director, RD, Support Services Manager and DOC. The DOC will complete an exemption request to have the current Support Services Manager as the FSM while she is completing 1.5 years left of the program for CSNM. In this time period, the RD will be the interim FSM and provide oversight and support to the Support Services Manager.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the exemption is submitted for this legislation.

HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: 35030 - RCR s.54(1) - A licensee must establish a program to instruct, if necessary, and assist persons in care in maintaining health and hygiene.
Observation: Inspection of 3 rooms found that 1/3 did not have paper towels or towels for hand hygiene. As a double room one of the PIC's flushes paper towel so paper towel was not provided. The second PIC is independent and should still have access to something to dry hands in the bathroom.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that all PIC's have access to items required for hand hygiene.
