Code 401 noted on Routine inspection # LQUN-ADQT9V of Sep-12-2016 Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)] ( The back hand washing station has no liquid soap dispenser adjacent to it. Staff are unable to wash hands properly prior to handling food. A second hand wash station is found 2 feet away in the front service area and is currently being used as the sole hand wash station.)

Comments

A follow-up inspection was conducted, the following observations were made: - The hot water on demand system has been unplugged and not in service. Staff explained that the whole unit requires to be replaced, but at this time they will not be replacing it. - The leaking pipe under the 2-compartment sink has been fixed and does not leak. - The ice machine has been fixed and cleaned. Ice machine back in operation. - Staff have started repairs to the unsealed, damaged walls and cupboards. Ensure all dents and chips in walls are filled with drywall putty first, prior to painting. This will ensure the wall is smooth, level, and absent of holes or uneven surfaces (which is hard to clean). - The back hand washing sink was accessible (nothing blocking it, or in the sink), and full paper towel & liquid soap dispensers are mounted beside sink.
