Observation: Operator has not provided an updated food safety plan to the district Environmental Health Officer and a plan was not available onsite according to staff. They were unable to find the original food safety plan.
Corrective Action(s): Provide a copy of the food safety plan for your menu items to the district EHO by March 1, 2018. Contact the district EHO if you have any questions.

307 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not of suitable design/material [s. 16; s. 19]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Straws were stored in a wooden basket.
Corrective Action(s): Straws were placed into a washable container upon verbal direction by the district EHO. Ensure all storage containers used to store food contact surfaces are constructed of easy to clean, smooth, impermeable, non-toxic, and durable materials.

311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: A small electric fryer ("Brevetti Pro") was observed near the domestic stovetop and it did not have mechanical ventilation directly above it where it was located. Staff member mentioned that they use it below the ventilation fans of the domestic stovetop that was adjacent to it.
Corrective Action(s): Do not use the fryer without having a ventilation unit directly above it and without obtaining approval from the appropriate agencies (i.e. Fraser Health and City of Surrey); Correct immediately. Please contact the City of Surrey to inquire about and meet the appropriate ventilation requirements for this electric fryer unit.

Observation: Copy of the updated sanitation plan has not yet been provided to the district EHO of Fraser Health. The operator was unable to show the original sanitation plan to the district EHO during the previous routine inspection and a copy of it was not available onsite.
Corrective Action(s): Rewrite the sanitation plan and submit it to the district EHO of Fraser Health for health approval purposes. Correct by March 1, 2018. Please contact the district EHO if you have any specific questions about the sanitation plan.

Handsinks were accessible for handwashing and were adequately supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and paper towels.
Display cooler was at 3.4 degrees C (4 degrees C or less).
Upright glass door cooler was at 2.2 degrees C (4 degrees C or less).
Prep. cooler was at 2.3 degrees C (4 degrees C or less)
Small white cooler was below 4 degrees C however it is for staff use only.
Chest freezer was at or below -18 degrees C or less.
Hot-held spring rolls were at or above 60 degrees C.
100 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available in the bucket.
Dishwashing method was reviewed with staff member.
