Introduction

Introduction An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). Facility Risk Assessment Screening for COVID 19. The following areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance: 1. Physical facility 2. Health and Illness Policy 3. Hygiene/ communicable disease contact 4. Registration 5. Staff The following topics were discussed work safe BC protocol staff concerns The following resources were provided. COVID 19: public health guidance for child care settings

Observed Violations

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation: there is a large hole located the base of a step, this presents a dangerous tripping hazard,staff are aware of the issue and will create a plan to ensure children are not in danger of harm, the staff have also stated that the office has been informed Corrective Action(s): please ensure the hole is repaired and as per staff statement a plan is in place to ensure the health and safety of the children in care. Date to be Corrected: August 12,2020
