Observation: Rodent droppings were observed in the following areas of the back room:
-On the floor below the 2-compartment sink.
-On the floor below the shelving unit for expired food products that are not retailed.
-On the floor near the electrical area.
Corrective Action(s): Clean and sanitize the above-noted areas to remove the rodent droppings; Correct today. Monitor for signs of pest activity and implement pest control measures: sealing any potential entry points, reducing potential harborage areas, pest control program to re-service traps, and regular cleaning and sanitizing. Mechanical traps were observed to be setup in the back room, however Person in Charge on shift informed that the Manager is more aware of the details regarding the pest control program.

Comments

Routine inspection:
-Walk-in-cooler and reach-in cooler containing cold potentially hazardous food (e.g. milk, pre-packaged sandwiches) were at 4 degrees C (required: 4 degrees C or less).
-Freezer for pre-packaged ice cream, freezer for pre-packaged ice, and freezer in the back room were at -18 degrees C or less.
-Refrigeration units were equipped with thermometers.
-QUATS sanitizer was available in a stock bottle at the 2-compartment sink. Ware-washing was not occurring at the time of inspection.
-2-compartment sink was supplied with hot and cold running water. One sink plug was available. Note: Please find or obtain a second adequately sized sink plug for this sink.
-Handsink behind the front counter, handsink in the food store, and handsink in the customer washroom were supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
-Dry food was stored on clean shelving units in the food store.
-Storage cabinets in the food store area (e.g. for storing additional single-use disposable cups) appeared to be in a clean condition at the time of inspection.
