Introduction

All care categories were inspected during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/:
• the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA)
• the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR)
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practices (DLSP)

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #CGEE-C4VM9B have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12160 - CCLR s.20(1) - The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation: The licensee explained that he has recently applied for an ordinarily present individual's CRC.
Corrective Action(s): This individual must not be onsite during operational hours.

Summary of FIR #CGEE-CEQLRM (19/May/2022)

FHA observed 1 violation today, in which corrective action includes obtaining an ordinarily present individual's CRC.

FHA discussed key points from BCCDC's "Public Health Guidance for Child Care Settings" (http://www.bccdc.ca/Health-Info-Site/Documents/COVID_public_guidance/Guidance_Child_Care.pdf).

The inspection was reviewed w/ the licensee; however, this FIR & the facility risk assessment tool were completed @ the Burnaby Health Protection office to the licensee on 24/May/2022.
