211 - Semi critical items not adequately cleaned and disinfected
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Metal foot files (callus rasps for removing calluses) are only being washed (not disinfected). Cuticle nippers, nail clippers, metal cuticle pushers and semi critical items are being washed and then are disinfected however the disinfectant has expired. The disinfectant also is cloudy and does not appear to be changed as per directions on the label (change every 14 days or more often). The container used to store disinfectant cannot fully immerse the cuticle pushers.
Corrective Action(s): Immediately, provide a high level disinfectant for all items above. This is now on order. In the meantime, manager advises they will wash, rinse, and then use chlorine to disinfect (high level is 100mL bleach in 900mL water). Then rinse and air dry. Measuring cup is available. Use all chemicals safely as per label.

Observation: Credo/pedicure blades are single use and discarded into a glass jar with lid. There is no sharps container.
Corrective Action(s): Provide a proper sharps container for safe and permanent disposal of sharps/blades.

219 - Non critical items not adequately cleaned and disinfected
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Foot bath is lined with disposable liner (discarded after each client) - good. The foot bath is not disinfected between uses.
Corrective Action(s): Wash, rinse, and disinfect foot bath between each client. Use an intermediate level disinfectant such as chlorine (10mL bleach in 490 mL of water). Use all chemicals safely.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Numbing cream not approved for use due to ingredients and is past expiry date.
Corrective Action(s): Numbing cream discarded during inspection. Do not use numbing cream unless it meets labelling and Fraser Health requirements..

Observation: Tweezers in waxing area have hair on them. Sink is difficult to clean due to wax on surfaces.
Corrective Action(s): Clean and disinfect tweezers with at least a low level disinfectant. Clean the waxing room, including sink.

Eyelash Extensions:
- NOT approved. Stop providing this service. Contact Fraser Health.
Microblading:
- NOT approved. Stop providing this service. Contact Fraser Health.
General:
- Use all chemicals as per label (dilution, ventilation, contact time, re-use/when to change, safety for staff, no mixing of chemicals).
- Hand washing sinks in main nail services area, small waxing treatment room, and washroom have hot/cold water, liquid soap, and single use (paper) towels.
- Laundry is on site. Using bleach and hot dry cycle.
- Two compartment sink at back for clean up.
