Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation: Licensing observed that the manager's name is not posted in a prominent place in the community care facility.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the manager's name is posted in a prominent place in the community care facility.

Comments

At the inspection dated Dec. 09, 2021 there were 13 children and 3 staff present.The manager was on-site and assisted with the inspection. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Actions required by the licensee includes a written response. The contravention noted in this report was reviewed with the facility during the inspection.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

A COVID-19 Risk Screening was also completed.

The following education/recommendations/discussions were provided:
- Reportable Incident procedures
- Continue to document minor incidents using the incident log book
- Continue to follow COVID-19 policy
- Continue to clean and sanitize the facility including toys and equipment
- Cleaning items and supplies
- Hand hygiene procedures
- Continue to check the expiry date of items in the emergency supplies kit
- Administering and storing medication
- Outdoor play area active supervision
- Requirement and file of new enrolment
