Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Three pieces of cut squash observed individually wrapped in plastic and stored on the shelf at room temperature. Staff voluntarily discarded the squash during inspection.
Corrective Action(s): DO NOT store cut/processed vegetables or fruits at room temperature as this can cause baterial growth. All vegetables and fruits which have been processed (e.g. cut, peeled) must be stored in the cooler at or below 4'C to prevent bacterial growth.

Observation: Three packages of marinated cheese observed stored in the display cooler. Cheese is not labelled from the supplier. Staff moved the cheese to an area to be returned to the supplier.
Corrective Action(s): DO NOT obtain any items from unapproved sources AND ensure all items received are labelled adequately. Return items to the supplier which are not traceable.

Observation:
1. Multiple cardboard boxes of produce observed stored directly on the floor in the store.

2. Three cut pieces of squash observed stored in the retail area at room temperature. Staff stated that the squash was cut on site. Squash was voluntarily discarded by staff.
Corrective Action(s):
1. Move all cardboard boxes at least 6 inches off the floor to prevent potential contamination. Cardboard boxes are porous which can allow moisture, chemicals or pests to contaminate the contents of the box.

2. The facility is NOT approved for cutting / processing fruits or vegetables. Submit an updated food safety plan and sanitation plan to the health inspector if you would like to cut produce on site.

Observations:
- Walk-in cooler at 3'C
- Display cooler at 3'C
- Display freezer at -19'C
- General sanitation satisfactory
- Hand washing station is supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towel
- 2-compartment sink available with drain plugs and bleach
- Bulk bins observed in good sanitary condition with scoops placed outside the machine
- No signs of pest activity during inspection
- Professional pest control company is contracted
- Canned food items observed for dents - all observed in good condition
- Front door observed closed during inspection
- All food outdoors observed covered by building top cover

***Reminders:
- Temperature logs are NOT available or maintained on site. Obtain a temperature log and maintain as per approved food safety plan.
- The facility IS NOT approved for cutting produce. To proceed with cutting produce on site, the operator MUST first submit an updated food safety plan AND sanitation plan and obtain health approval from the district Environmental Health Officer (EHO).
