Observation: 1. Multiple changes have been made to the floor plan which includes addition of new equipment, movement of existing equipment and installation of new kitchen hood. Operator did not submit proposed floor plan to obtain Health Approval prior to making the alterations to the previously approved floor plan.
2. Operator moved the food prep table and placed it next to the handwash sink. No splash guard was provided between prep table and handwash station.
3. Ceiling tiles in the back area are either missing or damaged. Operator stated that the ceiling fell down and they are in process of repairing it.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Ensure that Health Approval is obtained from Fraser Health prior to making any alterations to the floor plan. Submit a copy of updated floor plan to district EHO by January 26, 2022.
2. Install a splash guard between food prep table and handwash station to prevent the risk of food contamination due to accidental water splash/spill from handwash sink. TO BE CORRECTED BY - January 26, 2022
3. Ensure that the facility is maintained in good repair. Replace/repair the ceiling tiles. TO BE CORRECTED BY - February 19, 2022.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted at the food facility and the following observations were made during the inspection:

Temperature (coolers to be at 4C or less, freezers at -18C or less):
- Freezers (x2) in back area at -12C & -9C
- Stainless steel freezer in back area at -13C
- Walk-in cooler at 4C
- Prep cooler at 2C
- Front pop cooler at 4C
- Temperature logs were maintained and found up-to-date.

Storage:
- All products were found either in original packaging or covered inside coolers.
- Chemicals and cleaners were stored separate from food preparation areas.

Sanitation & Maintenance:
- Hand wash station was adequately stocked with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and single-use paper towels.
- Sanitizer spray bottle available and the concentration of QUATS noted at 200ppm.
- 3 compartment sink used for dishwashing purposes. Bleach bottle available on site and used for sanitizing step.

Pest Management:
- Professional pest control company conducts routine checks.
- No visible signs of pest activity observed at the time of inspection.

Administrative:
- Operating permit was posted in a conspicuous location.
- Operator has valid FoodSafe Level 1 certificate.
