Introduction

An unscheduled/scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing of Practice (DLSP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13060 - CCLR s.56(1)(d) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.
Observation: During the routine inspection it was noted that the Behaviour Guidance policy was not available. This item was identified as a conversation in the inspection conducted in 2021.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a Behaviour Guidance policy is available to staff and parents.

Comments

At the inspection dated July 26, 2023 there were 3 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Temporary Placements and Exemptions
· Active Supervision
· Lead in the Water – flushing the pipes to remove any impurities before using the drinking water

Valid CRC, confirmed expiry date with licensee.
