Introduction

A scheduled follow up inspection to the Routine Inspection # KSEY-AA2UQW dated (May 17, 2016) was conducted.
Areas of non-compliance identified at the Routine Inspection were reviewed for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #KSEY-AA2UQW have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: During inspection Licensing reviewed staff records and noted that one staff person is missing immunization status.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all required documentation is on site for staff.

STAFFING: 12430 - CCLR s.56(1)(b) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].
Observation: During inspection Licensing reviewed staff records and noted one staff person's Criminal Record Approval letter is not addressed to the Licensee.

The Criminal Record Review Act requires the Criminal Record Approval letter be addressed to the Licensee.

Licensing discussed the process for having this information shared with the Licensee.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all documentation on site for staff is current.

Comments

Licensing reviewed emergency drill record & noted full emergency evacuation drill has been conducted.

During inspections children were reading & then engaged in free play where they were playing a card game & playing with Lego & a doll house creating a story.
