Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Savoury breads (meat and cheese) were stored at room temperature.
Corrective Action(s): Savoury breads are considered potentially hazardous foods and must be stored at/or below 4C to prevent the growth of pathogens and/or the formation of toxins. Breads were moved into a cooler at less than 4C at the time of inspection.

401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Washroom and meat cutting area handwash stations did not have single use paper towels.
Corrective Action(s): Handwash stations must be accessible and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and single use paper towels to facilitate proper handwashing. Operator purchased single use paper towels at the time of inspection.

Observation: 1) Bleach was too strong - test strip bleached out
2) Bulk food (almonds) were not covered and scoop did not have a designated storage area (scoop was in the basket of almonds)
Corrective Action(s): 1) Bleach in excess of 200ppm is not considered food grade and may be toxic. To prepare 200ppm bleach, add 1/2 teaspoon bleach per litre of water. Bleach at 200ppm was prepared at the time of inspection.
2) Bulk foods must have a cover to protect foods from potential contamination. Scoop should have a designated storage to prevent scoop from potentially contaminating foods.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Bleach sanitizer bottle had a Windex label.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all chemicals are properly labelled to prevent accidental mixing and/or misuse of chemicals. Containers will need to be relabelled as needed. Bleach at 200ppm was prepared at the time of inspection and bottle was labelled.

-Meat area upright freezer was -17C.
-Facility is currently not cooking chicken for sale.
-General sanitation good at the time of inspection.
-No signs of pests noted at the time of inspection.
