Introduction

A routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulationand the applicable Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. In response to the current COVID 19 pandemic this inspection focused on the physical facility, equipment and furnishings, hygiene and communicable disease control.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #SMOY-BJ4SNV have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At this inspection there were 5 staff and no children present. This facility has been closed since mid-March and will begin to care for children commencing July 2. 2020. There were no contraventions identified during today's inspection. As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed and a copy is provided.

Licensing reviewed with the staff their cleaning and sanitization procedures as well as the implementation of the facility's sick policy. Licensing reviewed with and provided to the staff the Fraser Health Resource Package for Childcare Facilities COVID 19 Prevention. Staff asked various questions regarding the reopening of their program. The facility has their WorkSafe BC safety plan posted. The staff have been working in partnership with the elementary school regarding COVID 19 practices. This includes using the outdoor courtyard for the children during the summer months.

This report was reviewed with the Manager at the time of the inspection. The report and the Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed off site (time spent: .33 hours) and copies of these reports will be forwarded to the Manager.
