Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The temperature of the fridge in Room 110 measured out to be 6°C.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the fridge temperature is between 0-4°C.

Comments

At this inspection, there were 17 children, 5 staff and the Manager present. At this inspection, the above contravention was identified. This contravention was corrected during the inspection, therefore no further action is required. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following was reviewed with the Manager:
· Storage of emergency supplies
· Transition plan with the new facility owner
· Fire drill procedure
· Outdoor play schedule

The contents of this report was reviewed with the Manager and a copy was emailed on Feb. 2, 2024.
