Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR), and the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) The cupboard and the closet in the kitchen area had been left unlocked. Corrective Action(s): Ensure children do not have access to any item which may be hazardous to their health and or safety. The licensee addressed the item during the inspection and will make sure that the staff keeps the cupboard and closet door locked after each use. Date to be Corrected: Feb 07, 2022

At this inspection dated February 7, 2022 there were 7 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection, above noted contraventions were identified.
