During today’s inspection, there were 12 children, 1 staff and the manager were present. Licensing joined the "Open air" preschool class, to review and assess the policies for use of the play away space area located across the road on school owned property, and to review of the transportation procedures.
The following contravention identified in the Routine Inspection conducted on October 12, 2022, was reviewed:

-Manager provided licensing with a detailed map, the policies and procedures for the play away space, and polices and procedures for transportation to that space. In addition, the manager has provided detailed safety and emergency management policies for the outdoor space use.
-Staff informed the office of the spaces they would be located on school grounds during the time of care, in the event they would need to be located.
-Children were dropped of by parents at the facility portable. Staff signed in children, and walked the children to the designated outdoor area. Parents will pick-up children at the "meeting location" which is at the tent and storage area, where the toilet and sink are located.
-In addition to the toilet and sink, a bladder bag with fresh drinking water was carried with staff and was accessible to children.
-Tent, and storage area were reviewed, and discussed. Staff store a variety of toys and equipment, along with emergency supplies. The tent area provides cover during rain, with seating. Another covered picnic area is available with tables for eating, located near a hand washing station.
-Staff carried hand sanitizer, first aid kit, emergency cards, and cell phones with them in their backpacks.
