Services:
- Approved for eyelash extensions and permanent make up (brows).
- Notify Fraser Health if there are any changes or proposed additional services.
- Using room with hand washing sink. Room rental is in nail salon.
Eyelash Extensions:
- Semi-critical items (tweezers) are cleaned, rinsed, DRIED, and then disinfected with a high level disinfectant as per label on bottle (undiluted and changed every 7 days as per operator).
- Store clean tweezers so that they are protected from contamination.
- Eyelash storage - organized and eyelashes are protected from contamination - good.
- Single use (disposable) items - mascara/eyelash wand, make up remover applicator stick, tissue, eye immobilizer pad, glue cup, and paper bed cover.
- Hand washing sink in room - good.
- If using disposable gloves, use non-latex (some people have allergies).
Permanent Make Up (brows):
- Critical items - Single use needles are pre-packaged, sterile, and dated (expiry dates good). Needles are self contained (membrane between needle and tattoo pen).
- Eyebrow razor and handle are single use (discarded after each client).
- Discard sharps into sharps container which is available on site.
- Provide a photo to Fraser Health of permanent make up (tattoo) pen.
- Inks are labelled as "sterile" and have expiry date - good.
- Numbing cream is labelled for use for permanent make up - photo obtained of labelling. Maximum 5% lidocaine.
- Permanent make up pen is covered with disposable plastic sleeve that is discarded after each client/use. Disinfecting wipes used for disinfecting make up pen after plastic cover has been discarded.
- Other disposable single use items - Hair covering for client and ink cups.
- Disposable ink cup holder, brow ruler, and marking pencils are disinfected with disinfecting wipes (expiry date good).
General:
- Room has hand washing sink with hot/cold water, liquid soap, and paper towels.
- Bed has plastic liner and paper cover that is discarded after each client.
- Disinfectant wipes are used for disinfecting bed, door knobs, trays, and other non-critical surfaces.
- Do not use the pink quats sanitizer as it has expired.
- Check label on all chemicals and make sure you use them safely and as instructed on the label.
- Room flooring is washable (impervious to moisture).
