PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: The fridge temperature was measured at 7.9 degrees Celsius. The staff stated that they usually do not store children's food in the fridge. Licensing observed that some of the children did not have ice packs in their lunches. The staff stated that they remind the parents to put ice packs in their lunches. Licensing recommends that you have a fridge available for children's lunches.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the fridge temperature is between 0-4 degrees Celsuis for safe food storage.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Licensing heard the smoke detector beeping.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that this addressed so that the smoke detector is working properly.

CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: The staff stated that an ECE certified took 5 School aged children and 2 Group Child (30 months to School Age) children for a walk.
Corrective Action(s): School age and Group Child Care (30 months to School Age) are not to be mixed together. If you wish the children who will be entering Kindergarten in September to be included in the School Age Group; you have the option of requesting a Temporary Placement.

Observation: Upon arrival, there were 2 ECE Assistant certified staff with 11 Group Child Care (30 months to School Age)
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that ECE certified staff is present with the children. If you would like the staff who has completed their ECE training, but who is not certified by the ECE Registry to work in place of an ECE staff; you have the option of applying for an Exemption.
