Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: There are three areas of the carpet on both sides of the facility that are in poor repair , the carpet appears old and is showing signs of wear, the linoleum is stained with black marks and rust on both sides of the facility.the garden hose is stored on the ground in a pile and is a potential tripping hazard.
Corrective Action(s): please ensure the flooring is cleaned to removed stains and the carpet replaced or repaired . please ensure the garden hose is stored in a manner that is not a tripping hazard.
