201 - Food contaminated or unfit for human consumption [s. 13] Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Observed two bags of uncooked lentils were infested with dry food pests (beetles). The bags appeared very old and infestation of pests had occurred. Corrective Action(s): Immediately discard the food, and clean and sanitize the area. Inspect stock daily for cleanliess and infestation, and rotate stock. During the inspection staff discarded the stock and cleaned the area. Violation Score: 5

Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made: - Cooler 4C or colder; freezers -18C or colder; and thermometers present. - 2-comp sink had liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water. Bleach present for sanitizing. - All foods stored 6" off the floor on platforms or shelves. Non-foods (cleaners, pet foods, personal hygiene products, etc.) stored separately from foods. - General sanitation is good. Ensure all food items (packages, boxes, cans) on shelves are dusted daily, and retail shelves are wiped cleaned weekly to remove dust and spills. - No signs of pests. - No expired foods for sale. - Slushie machine not in use during inspection, operation only during summer. - Bulk candy area had tongs and individual bags.
