304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: A number of mice droppings were noticed at the time of inspection in following areas: Behind onion storage tote, underneath and behind equipment ( coolers and freezers), staff washroom and other hard-to-reach areas. Operator is aware of the issue and has placed several glue traps.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Clean floors underneath and behind all equipment (pressure washing recommeded) to remove any mice droppings. Clean all of the afffected areas thoroughly followed by a bleach mop ( for disinfection) ( By April 12, 2022)
2. Ensure that alll food items are stored in bins with tight fitting lids.
3. All items, equipment and food buckets etc. must be stored off the floor to allow for easy cleaning of the surfaces and easy detection of ongoing mice infestation.
4. If the mice issue does not resolve, hire a licensed pest control company for rodent monitoring and control.

Observation: Several items were found stored on the floor or on low shelving, equipment ( e.g. deep freezer not off the floor). This in combination with poor lighting can faciliate harbouring and breeding of rodents.
Corrective Action(s): You must move all items off the floor. Move freezers and coolers away from the wall periodically to clean floor in hard to reach areas. ( April 12, 2022).
