A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Hand sink stocked with liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water.
- Ozone and filter room is clean and organized.
- Filters and UV lights changed regularly and recorded.
- All full and empty water jugs are stored 6" off the floor on platforms or pallets.
- General sanitation level is satisfactory. Improvement needed in the shipping and receiving areas, as there is dust, dirt and leaves built up. This is possibly due to the bay doors being open. Sweep this area more frequently and try to keep the bay doors closed as much as possible.
- No signs of pests.
- Inspected the space where the Stevia product will be bottled. The area and surfaces meet health standards.
- No reusing the bottles, the flavoring come in as it is not made of durable, reusable plastic. The plastic flavoring bottles can NOT withstand exposure to cleaning chemicals or hot water, it may degrade the plastic and chemicals may leach into the Stevia product.
- A best before date shall be placed on the bottled Stevia product.
- A seal or tape must be placed on/around the Stevia bottle neck for security purposes, to indicate no tapering (or opening of the bottle) occurred prior to the customer opening it.
- FSP and SP approved for the new product.
- Sale of the product shall occur within the Lower Mainland only. If sales and distribution would like to occur outside of the Lower Mainland, adherence to Federal Health standards may apply. Go to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to determine if any Federal standards would apply.
- Approval to bottle the Stevia product granted. |
