Observed Violations
MEDICATION: 16010 - CCLR s.53(1)(a) - If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A child requiring medication did not have specific instructions when to administer the medication. The Manager stated that they have developed a new system to ensure that staff have the specific time and amount of medication to give to the child. The parent did not complete the communication tool today. The Manager contacted the parent for the specific instructions and the Manager documented it in the communication tool.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure specific instructions around the amount, type and time medication is to be given.
