Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): There was dirty wiping cloth left outside the sanitizer bucket on the counter at the donut station.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to store wiping cloths inside the sanitizer bucket at all times when not in use.

Observation: The fly trapping tapes are covered with flies.
Corrective Action(s): Replace the tapes with new ones. Change the trapping tapes regularly to ensure its effectiveness.

308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation: The door of the back walk in freezer is not properly closing. The operator is aware of the problem.
Corrective Action(s): Repair the deficiency noted. The door must completely seal the walk in freezer in order to maintain proper temperature.

502 - In operator’s absence, no staff on duty has FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent [s. 10(2)]
Observation: There was no FOODSAFE certified staff on duty at the time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): There must be at least one FOODSAFE certified staff on duty at all times. This violation has not been fixed since November 25th, 2016. Tim Hortons Food Handler Course does not meet the BC's FOODSAFE equivalency. You must either have proof of FOODSAFE certificates on site or register your staff to take FOODSAFE level 1. A correction order was issued at the time of the inspection. Failure to comply with this order will result in stricter enforcement and violation ticket by the health department.

Comments

- General sanitation is satisfactory.
- All handwashing stations are stocked with cold/hot running water, soap, and paper towels.
- Coolers (walk in, line, undercounter, display) < or = to 4C.
- Freezers (walk in) < or = -18
- Hot holding units > 60C
- Thermometers available in coolers.
- Temperature log was kept up to date on the computer.
- High temperature dishwasher reached 77C at the plate's level during the rinse cycle.
- Three compartment sink available for manual dishwashing. Sanitizer available at 200 ppm Quat solution. Ensure to follow the proper procedure: 1) Wash 2) Rinse 3) Sanitize 4) Air dry.
- Surface sanitizer available in red buckets with presoaked wipes at 200 ppm Quat solution. Each station is stocked with surface sanitizer and clean wiping cloth. Ensure to change the solution regularly to prevent loss of strength.
- There is slight build up of mildew on the inside cover of the ice machine. Keep up to date with cleaning.
- Dry storage area is satisfactory.
