Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Not Applicable
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12160 - CCLR s.20(1) - The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation: Criminal Record Check completed through the RCMP for an individual living in the home.
Corrective Action(s): please ensure a CRC is process through the Criminal Records Review Agency , reviewed process.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19370 - DLSOP Safe Play Space (maintenance of equipment [b3]) - [bullet 3] Keep a log of all inspections, maintenance and repairs.
Observation: Licensee includes completing an outside inspection prior to using the area.
Corrective Action(s): please maintain a log of all inspections , reviewed some documentation which may be included.

Comments

Summary of Inspection-At the inspection dated March 7, 2019 there were 2 children and the licensee. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.
Licensee to provide a witten response by March 14, 2019 including how the areas found to be in noncompliance have been addressed. Licensing will respond to acknowledge receipt. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
