Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #CGEE-ATCPTE have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12430 - CCLR s.56(1)(b) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].
Observation: It was observed that the current criminal records checks available were expired. It was discussed that the CRC's have been renewed, but they were unable to be located
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure records are kept current and that the records are available upon request

Comments

At the inspection dated March 20, 2019 there was 1 child and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The licensee is asked to address the violations and to provide a response within two weeks. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following items were discussed with the licensee:
-A tear has begun to form in one of the cribs. The licensee is aware of this and is taking steps to replace the crib
-DIN numbers on products such as sunscreen and diaper cream and requiring parent permission to apply these products on children
