209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Small plastic bowls were left in dry storage containers and used for dispensing food. Using improper dispensing utensils could increase the risk of potential food contamination. Operator removed the bowls at the time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Use proper scoops with handles for dispensing food. Store the scoops in a sanitary manner either outside the container or with the handle up (not touching the food).

304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Moderate amount of rodent droppings observed in the back storage area along the walls, in the corners and in the room used for storing take out containers. Food can get contaminated by direct contact with rodent's urine, faeces and saliva.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Remove all the rodent droppings from the affected areas and disinfect the area with 1 part bleach to 9 part water solution. Use proper PPE during cleaning.
2. Contact your Pest Control Company and discuss the issue to implement appropriate control measures.
3. Regular cleaning and monitoring would be required to track rodent activity.
4. To facilitate cleaning, store all the food products, containers and equipment on the shelving units at least 15cm off the floor.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted.

Findings:
- Temperature of all refrigeration units recorded at or below 4C
- Freezers at or below -18C
- Handwash sink available and has adequate supply of hot and cold running water, liquid soap and single use paper towels.
- 2 compartment sink used for manual dishwashing. Drain plugs and sanitizer onsite.
- 200ppm QUATS sanitizer present in spray bottle.
- Operator has valid FOODSAFE Level 1.
- Pest Control Company conducts monthly checks.
- Mechanical traps and glue traps in place throughout the facility.

CORRECTION ORDER issued on October 5, 2022 rescinded at the time of inspection.

Actions Required:
- Please focus on the rodent issue in your facility to prevent further pest infestation.
- Email the reports to your district EHO for routine checks conducted by Pest Control Company.
- Notify the district EHO once you have installed the appropriate shelving unit in the storage room.
