Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.
7 children were present at the time of Licensing arrival. One child was transitioning and left shortly after Licensing arrival. Staff to child ratio's were met at the time of this inspection. Records were reviewed of the children in attendance at today's inspection and found complete.
The following areas were reviewed:

Resilent Surfacing
Licensee advised that she will be redistributing the pea gravel in the outdoor play area as some areas are sparse.
Minor Incident Log
Current method is to maintain a log on the Licensee cell phone and private Facebook account. Licensing reviewed a log note on the Licensee cell phone which verified notification was made to a parent of a minor incident involving their child.
Supervision
Discussed and reviewed supervision practices with the Licensee as part of the routine inspection and challenges during diaper changes and toileting of younger children. Licensee has advised that she will transition and maintain the group of children together during this time.
