Observation: In the Operator's absence, no employee on shift had a valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent course certificate. Both shift supervisors on shift had expired FOODSAFE Level 1 certificates and stated that they do not hold an equivalent course certificate either. They asked staff members who all confirmed that they do not hold a valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent course certificate.

This is a repeat violation; future repeat violations may result in enforcement action to ensure compliance with Section 10 of the Food Premises Regulation pursuant to the Public Health Act. A follow up inspection will be conducted.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that at least one employee on shift in the absence of the Operator has a valid (unexpired) FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent course certificate; Correct by September 20, 2019.

Handsinks were adequately supplied.
Walk-in-cooler and other refrigeration units were at or below 4 degrees C.
Walk-in-freezer and other freezers had satisfactory temperatures.
Dishwasher final rinse temperature was 78.8 degrees C (71 degrees C or hotter).
200 ppm QUATS sanitizer was available in the containers with wiping cloths and in a sink unit of the ware-washing sink.
No signs of recent pest activity were present at the time of inspection.
Ice machine and ice machine bin was in a clean condition.
