Report of Findings
Licensing received a complaint on October 25, 2023 regarding staffing.  
  
All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Licensing gathered and reviewed facility records.    
 
Licensing confirmed that persons in care did not have access to a staff with the necessary training to ensure persons in care’s needs were met for six days.  
   
A contravention to section 42(1)(a) of the Residential Care Regulation (Staffing coverage) was determined.

Observation: There was no staff to provide nursing services to persons in care for 6 days.
Corrective action: A licensee must ensure that, at all times, the employees on duty are sufficient in numbers, training and experience, and organized in an appropriate staffing pattern to meet the needs of the persons in care.
