Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act(CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations(CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of practice (DOLSOP).

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, 47 children, 10 staff, the manager and the licensee present. At this inspection there were no contraventions identified, therefore no further action is required by the licensee.
As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy was provided to the facility along with this report.
The Risk Assessment includes any non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year ‘historical’ review of the facility’s compliance and operation and is used to determine inspection frequency.

The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Licensing observed the table in two classrooms were showing signs of wear, however, the licensee showed licensing two new tables that had just arrived for replacement.
· One wall had one area of light damage; the licensee has placed a sticker over the damage, as she has planned to repair this on the weekend.
· Reviewed the three sink dishwashing method in each classroom, and food provisions plan.
· Reviewed potential option for the retention of one child. Provided education to licensee. Licensing will send the link for the application form to the licensee.
