Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation: A child with an indicated allergy noted on registration form, does not have a care plan that includes the course of action recommended by health care professionals.
Corrective Action(s): The Staff explained that she will follow up with the parent during pickup and a care plan will be developed.

At the inspection dated March 6, 2024 there were 13 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Licensee/Manager to provide Licensing with a written response with actions taken to bring facility into compliance. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool will be completed and a copy will be provided.
