Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR), and the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: One of the six files reviewed did not have the record for the medical practitioner and the phone # .
Corrective Action(s): Ensure children's registration information s complete with all the required documentation including the Dr's name and phone #.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, there were 20 children, 3 staff and a practicum student present. Facility manger joined towards the end of the inspection.
At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Licensee is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contravention.

The following was discussed:
Creating system to practice implementing emergency plan at least annually.
Ensure that upper area in the outdoor play space is available for children to use.
Putting some privacy slats through the fencing was discussed.
Having all the care plans and medication authorization forms at one place.
