Observation: Mouse droppings were observed in the following areas:
1. Bottom shelves used for storing takeout container boxes
2. Along the wall near cash counter
3. Behind chest freezer
Corrective Action(s): Remove mouse droppings and disinfect the area with 1 part bleach to 9 parts water solution. Use gloves and proper PPE during cleaning. Regularly monitor for any mouse activity in the store. Discuss the issue with the contracted Pest Control Company to implement pest control measures.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted at the food store and the following observations were made:

General:
- Adequate lighting and ventilation was provided.
- Store does not sell any dairy products or eggs.

Temperature:
- Freezers (x3) at -18C or less.
- Walk-in cooler at ~5C and only used for storing produce overnight.
-1 cooler and 1 freezer were turned off and not used for storing any potentially hazardous food. Cooler was used as dry storage area for rice bags.

Storage:
- All food items were stored at least 6" off the floor.
- All products were found either in original packaging or covered inside coolers/freezers.

Pest Management:
- Professional pest control company conducts routine checks (see violation above).
- Mechanical traps were present throughout the facility.
- Front door was kept close.

Note - Store is planning to obtain Health Approval for selling cut fruits and smoothies. As discussed, please submit the required documentation to district EHO.
