Introduction

All areas of the community care facility (CCF) were inspected by Fraser Health Authority (FHA) for compliance during an unscheduled routine inspection to assess compliance w/ the:
• Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA)
• Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR)
• relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP)

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #CGEE-B6ZS88 have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): There was no means of hand drying in one of the children's washrooms.
Corrective Action(s): An employee added paper towel to the dispenser today.

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation: FHA measured < 6' clearance in front of the slide in the outdoor play space.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a 6' use zone around the equipment. Use zones are the safety zones around & under equipment to allow for proper use of the equipment, w/ adequate space for entering & exiting. Children shouldn't be allowed to hide, relax, play, etc, in the use zone.
