Routine check - scheduled.
Services provided: Colon Hydrotherapy and Non-Registered Massage ("Breathwork").
No diagnosis or treatment of illness permitted. Operator is aware that services restricted under the BC Health Professions Act cannot be provided.
Colon Hydrotherapy:
- Room used has sink with hot/cold water, liquid soap, and paper towels in dispenser for hand washing. Disposable non-latex gloves also worn.
- Equipment used previously verified to have Health Canada approval (Medical Device License).
- Service and routine maintenance of this equipment is to be in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. Repairs can be done through manufacturer (local). Keep records.
- Water filters are changed regularly based on pressure gauge. Machine also has a UV light.
- Cleaning and disinfection of equipment is to be as per the equipment manufacturer's instructions and as per the chemical label instructions.
- *** Provide concentration and contact time for use of "full flush" disinfectant***
- Disposable, single use items are new for each client and discarded after each use (eg. disposable speculum kit and tube with Health Canada #).
- Disposable bed and pillow coverings with waterproof backings - discarded after each client.
- Updated infection control plan provided by service provider and reviewed.
- Test strips available for disinfectant (glutaraldehyde based) recommended by manufacturer. Follow directions on chemical bottle label. Keep accurate records.
- Disinfectant used for non-critical surfaces is approved in Canada (see previous email from operator).
- Dispose of single use waste appropriately.
- Laundry - using hot wash and hot dry.
Non-registered Massage:
- "Breathwork" involves applying pressure with hands to areas of the body.
- Mouthpiece is individually wrapped/sterile (not observed today), single use only and new mouthpiece is used for each client session as per infection control plan.
- Client brings in own eye cover. Other pads/cushions are covered and covers are laundered between clients.
- Laundry - using hot wash and hot dry.
- This service is provided in front area with service provider washing hands in accessible hand sink in treatment room (keep door open to provide access to hand sink).
