Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: The food in the emergency Supplies Kit was expired.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have a system in place to check the expiry date for food at least once a year.

Comments

At the inspection dated August 25,2021 there were 7 children and licensee present. Licensee stated that there are total of 9 children registered in the program. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensing conducted a walk-through of the entire facility.
