311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)] Observation: The floor has exposed, unsealed cement areas as the paint is bubbling and peeling. Unsealed cement will absorb food and uncleanable. This will attract pests. Corrective Action(s): Resurface and seal the cement floor so that the surface is durable, level, smooth, sealed, impervious to water, light colored, and cleanable. **Correction date: Nov. 28/18** Violation Score: 5

Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made: - Freezer was -18C; thermometer present; and temperatures recorded daily. - Hand sink stocked with liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water. - 3-compartment sink with running hot and cold water, soap, and bleach present for dishwashing. - All open packages of dry ingredients stored in plastic storage drawers. Unopened packages stored on pallets, 6" off the floor. - Production and packaging occurs for 3 days. Distribution occurs during the week and Friday is delivery day (to certain locations). - Distribution occurs within BC and one client in USA. - General sanitation is good. Dry sweep and clean of all surfaces done daily. Once a week a wet, detailed cleaning of all equipment and surfaces done. - No signs of pests. Abell Pest Company is contracted, monthly, to monitor for pests.
