Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hydrogen peroxide cleaner disinfectant in the spray bottle was not within the manufacturer's concentration. It tested at 0 ppm.
Corrective Action(s): Manager replaced the hydrogen peroxide cleaner disinfectant in the spray bottle, and it was tested to be at 3500 ppm. This cleaner disinfectant is used for non-food contact surfaces only. Monitor the concentration of hydrogen peroxide cleaner disinfectant on a regular basis to ensure it is maintained at a concentration in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Handsink in the back kitchen area lacked accessible liquid soap in the wall-mounted liquid soap dispenser.
Corrective Action(s): Manager obtained a portable liquid soap dispenser bottle from a nearby retail store, and promptly re-stocked the handsink with liquid soap during the inspection. Market Supervisor obtained a new replacement dispenser lid for the wall-mounted liquid soap dispenser. Liquid soap was accessible from the wall-mounted liquid soap dispenser at this handsink once the lid of the dispenser was replaced. Ensure handsinks are kept supplied with accessible liquid soap and paper towel supplies, and hot and cold running water to enable proper handwashing practices.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Under-the-counter smoothie cooler in the front service area was above 4 degrees C. Door was observed to have been left open for less than 2 hours as a result of a product insert not being properly inserted into the cooler. Manager informed this cooler had recently been cleaned prior to the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Market Supervisor directed staff to transfer the insert of smoothie product into the walk-in-cooler, and closed the refrigeration door. Under-the-counter cooler returned to a temperature of 4 degrees C during the inspection. Ensure under-the-counter cooler is monitored and maintained at 4 degrees C or less, and the door is fully closed between use.

Comments

-Handsink in the front service area and handsink in the staff washroom were supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
-Walk-in-cooler and other refrigeration units in use were at 4 degrees C or less.
Note: Under-the-counter cooler next to the desk labelled as "employee fridge" is used for the personal use of employees only.
-McCafe under-the-counter cooler is not used at this location. This cooler had an "out of order sign" and it was empty of food stock.
-Freezer temperatures of under-the-counter freezers and walk-in-freezer were satisfactory.
-Hot-held food was at least 60 degrees C.
-Electronic time-tracking was in place for condiments.
-100 ppm chlorine sanitizer was available in the sanitizer pails with wiping cloths.
-200 ppm QUATS sanitizer was available in the labelled spray bottles.
-3-compartment sink was setup properly for manual ware-washing: first compartment with hot soapy water and third compartment sink with 200 ppm QUATS sanitizer.
-Chlorine, QUATS, and hydrogen peroxide cleaner disinfectant chemical test strips were available.
-Ice machine and ice bin were observed to be in a clean condition.
-Manager on shift held valid FOODSAFE Level 1 course training (expiration date: October 5, 2026).
-Pest control program was in place on monthly basis via Orkin.
-No signs of recent pest activity were evident at the time of inspection.
-Dry goods were stored on clean shelving units off the floor.
