Introduction

An unscheduled follow-up inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSOP).

Observed Violations
CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14360 - CCALA s.7(1)(b)(i) - A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,
Observation: Licensing observed one child enrolled in the Infant/Toddler program that is over 36 months of age.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the ratio to children attending is no less than that permitted in Schedule E. A discussion was had with the staff and a retention application will be submitted.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed six children in attendance in the 3-5 program, only two children were signed in.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a record indicating for each day whether the child is absent, present and the time of arrival and departure.

Comments

Licensing did not receive a written response to the routine inspection. The follow- up inspection was an opportunity to ensure all the coded violations have been addressed. All violations have not been addressed.
