Report of Findings
Licensing received a complaint on October 12, 2023 regarding medications. 
 
All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Licensing gathered and reviewed facility records.   
 
Licensing confirmed that staff failed to follow medication policies and procedures when they failed to notify a person in care’s family of a medication error.  
 
A contravention to section 68(4) of the Residential Care Regulation (Medication safety and advisory committee) was determined.

Observation: The staff did not inform the physician and family when the medication error was reported to the Pharmacist.
