Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.
The following areas were reviewed:

· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Nutrition and Food Services
· Program
· Records and Reporting
As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR # have been corrected except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12200 - CCLR s.22(2)(c) - A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.
Observation: The fire and emergency drill records for preschool and school age program were reviewed. It appeared that emergency drill has not been conducted in the school program.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the facility conduct emergency drill program at least once a year and record it. The manager stated that they have a plan to conduct it sometimes in March 2018.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19330 - CCLR s.59(b) - In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (b) keep a record other than one referred to in paragraph (a) in a place from which it can be retrieved within a reasonable time, on request.
Observation: School age staff files were reviewed. It appeared that some of the files were missing CRC, references, immunization status and evidence of training and skills. One staff's file was unable to locate during the inspections.

Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that you have all the staff's file and be able to provide upon request.
Please ensure that all the staff have the following documents:
1. CRC
2. two references
3. resume
4. diplomas, certificates or other evidence of training and skills.
5. Immunization record status
6. first aid ( if applicable)
