Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #KSEY-AVKVUH have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated Feb. 4, 2019 there were 14 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection no contraventions were identified.
During inspection Licensing noted that, though the rotten windowsill noted on the last routine inspection was corrected, another windowsill is beginning to show signs of wear & rotting. Manager stated that they will monitor the windowsill & have it repaired if the wood begins to splinter.
During inspection Licensing noted that, though the items being stored in room 19 have been removed, there are some new items being stored now. Manager stated they will monitor the amount of furnishings/ items being stored in room 19 to ensure it does not impact on the required amount of usable space.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

During inspection Licensing observed children arriving at the facility, eating snack, and engaged in free play outside

During inspection Licensing observed staff interacting with children while they were engaged in activities, as well as giving warnings before transitions.
