Introduction

An unannounced follow-up inspection was completed today. The inspection is in response to contraventions identified at the routine inspection #CLAN-CP3RSL

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11090 - CCLR s.15(1)(b) - A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency.
Observation: Licensing observed that an exit to the facility was blocked by multiple strollers. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that no objects block any exit to the facility so the exits can be utilized in case of emergency.

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation: During the inspection the following was observed in the classroom:
-A bottle of bleach and water was within easy reach of the children. This was not corrected by the date specified on the routine inspection. This is a repeat contravention.
-Doors to the mechanical room were easy to open. A lock was observed but not applied. This was not corrected by the date specified on the routine inspection. This is a repeat contravention. Licensing reviewed the importance of having a daily system in place to check for hazards.
-A heater in the washroom was hot to the touch. Licensing measured the temperature on the surface of the heater. The temperature was over 100 degrees Celsius. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children do not have access to any objects or substances that are harmful to their health and safety.

Comments

At the inspection dated March 17, 2023 there were 24 children, and 8 staff and the Manager was present. At this inspection the above noted repeat contraventions were identified. Please correct the above noted contraventions by March 17, 2023..
