Introduction

An unannounced routine inspection was conducted today to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulationand the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. Evidence for this report was based on the writer's observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.

The following areas were reviewed:
Licensing
Physical Facility
Staffing
Policies and Procedures
Care and Supervision
Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
Medication
Nutrition and Food Services
Program
Records and Reporting.

As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The risk assessment includes any violations identified during the routine inspection, and a 3 year 'historical' review of the facility's compliance and operation.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #SMOY-AJEPWD have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

There were 3 staff and a volunteer with 14 children during today's inspection. All areas inspected were found to be in compliance with the legislative requirements. The writer would like to acknowledge the hard work by staff in achieving this status. The writer would like to inform staff that if their early childhood educator certificate is about to expire they submit their documentation to the early childhood education registry in advance to allow sufficient time for their application to be processed.
