Observation: OUTSTANDING: floor plans have not been submitted for the renovations that have taken place. This was coded and written in the previous routine inspection dating June 29, 2021 when a closure order was issued. the following issues were identified:
-barista area is only equipped with a single compartment handsink. this area at minimum requires one more sink as a utility sink and dump sink
-unfinished wall and floor joints under the counters around the barista station
-unfinished wall and floor joints around the large ice machine near POS
-unfinished 2X4 wood support beside the large ice machine
-mop sink in the back of house is still missing (since June 2021)
-unfinished wall and floor joints around the mop sink and wall towards the door
-unfinished wall across from back of house handsink (adjacent walls have FRP walls)
-baseboards falling off in staff room
Corrective Action(s): Submit floor plans drawn to scale with 2nd sink in barista area and mop sink in the back of house. Do not start construction on these plans until approved by regulatory authorities
Paint or seal all exposed wood
Paint or seal all unfinished walls. ensure that wall and floor joints are sealed and coved to allow for easy cleaning
Reinstall the mop sink after floor plans have been approved

Operator will be provide floor plans within 1 week.

Observation: 3 staff on site at the time of inspection, none of them had completed FOODSAFE level 1

Staff now wash and sanitize blenders and carafes between shift changes (once every 3 to 4 hours)
Temperature checks are being conducted
Ice scoops are stored in a sanitary manner for both ice machines
Permit and business license moved to front of house. Ensure that both are in plain view of customers

outstanding permit fee letter delivered: operator provided a cheque for $150 (cheque #210423)

complaint inspection conducted re: pets on site. staff are aware that service dogs are the only animals permitted on site. Facility also has a sign on the door indicating this policy.
Operator is aware of incident with a customer who brought in a dog recently. Operator had spoken with the owner of the dog, when identified.
