Critical Hazards: There are no critical hazards.
Non-Critical Hazards: Total Number: 1
304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Moderate volume of rodent droppings (mice) noted along back wall of kitchen. Droppings also noted behind equipment in dining portion of cafeteria. Pest Control contract in place and technician on bi-weekly frequency. Droppings mostly along wall in hard to reach areas and around electrical cabling for equipment. Sticky traps in kitchen not set properly (smushed against wall). Some traps throughout kitchen and dining area not tight to wall and rodents may be able to avoid.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Ensure cleaning staff do proper job of removing all food debris from floor, including around legs of equipment and behind electrical conduits.
2) Ensure Pest technician properly places traps and that kitchen staff/cleaning staff completely clean up food debris in kitchen and dining area. Cleaning staff must replace trap locations exactly as Pest technician requires. Pest control, kitchen staff and cleaning staff must all be on same page. Communication needed.
3) Continue to monitor rodent movements and isolate potential access points into cafeteria.
**Although cafeteria is part of warehouse there is sufficient physical separation to keep rodents out of the cafeteria area through Intergrated Pest Control strategies.
This will be reviewed on follow up inspection date noted on report.
Violation Score: 9
